Quality milking tables come with integrated padding and surface material. Additional covers or padding are usually unnecessary and often marketed as optional add-ons. What Comes Built Into Quality Milking Tables

The MILKER and similar quality tables come with two inches of foam padding covered by a PU leather surface. This padding is comfortable for extended periods and the surface is wipeable and durable. You do not need anything else out of the box.

The padding is bonded to the frame and designed to work as-is. The surface is meant to be cleaned with mild soap and water. No extra protection needed.

Budget tables might have thinner padding or cheaper surfaces. If you chose a quality table, the padding and surface are already sufficient.

Covers and Whether They Help

Some sellers offer latex or rubber covers to place on top of a milking table. In theory this adds a texture or protective layer. In practice it is usually unnecessary.

Covers can trap moisture between the cover and the original surface, which damages the underlying material. The original PU leather surface is designed to be exposed and wiped clean, not covered.

Covers add cost without meaningful benefit. The original surface is already protective and easy to clean. Do not buy covers.

Extra Padding Options and Downsides

Some people consider adding extra padding on top of the existing padding. This is possible but not recommended.

Extra padding changes the feel of the table and can affect how the surface sits on the frame. It also requires anchoring or bolting to stay in place, which complicates the design.

If the original padding is not thick enough for your comfort, the real solution is buying a table with thicker original padding, not adding extra. Most quality tables already have sufficient padding.

How to Actually Protect Your Table

Clean the surface regularly with mild soap and water. This prevents staining and keeps the material in good condition. A damp cloth and appropriate cleaner is all you need.

Store the table in a dry location. Do not expose it to extreme heat or cold. Basic environmental protection is what matters.

Do not use harsh chemicals that could damage the PU leather. Mild soap is genuinely sufficient for cleaning and protection.

Proper maintenance of the original surface protects it better than covers or extra padding ever could.
